Amino Acid Balancing

The vast majority of UK dairy diets are short of methionine

This is one of the first two limiting Essential Amino Acids (EAAs) for milk production, and then once you go soya free it usually means you are also short in lysine, the second limiting amino acid.

Essential Amino Acids are amino acids that the animal cannot produce themselves (there are 9 or 10 in total, depending on your reference, with Arginine sometimes considered non-essential) and they need to be fed/supplemented to maximise their potential benefits.

Ensuring that your ration is correctly balanced for EAAs can bring production, fertility and health benefits to your farm.

With experience gained from organising the first UK commercial trial of the latest generation of rumen protected amino acids from Kemin we can help you lower the overall crude protein levels of your diet and supplement with amino acids to ensure you get the best for your cows.
